The 1990 film 'Dushman' was helmed and produced by Shakti Samanta.
During the 1980s, this marked the height of Mithun's career, where he acted in one film after the other and attained maximum popularity. His on-screen jodi with Mandakini was such a delight to watch that audiences wanted more films featuring this pairing.
With them appearing together in films back to back, speculations about their possible off-screen romance too started doing the rounds. In the early 1990s, Mandakini had also been linked briefly with gangster Dawood Ibrahim when she was spotted with him in Dubai. Mandakini had denied the romantic link with Dawood.
On the personal front, Mandakini is married to a Buddhist monk Dr Kagyur T. Rinpoche Thakur. The couple are parents to a son, named Rabbil and a daughter, Rabze Innaya.
She is best known for playing the title role in the 1985 movie 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili' by film producer-director Raj Kapoor opposite his youngest son Rajiv Kapoor.
She then went on to act in hit films like 'Dance Dance' opposite Mithun, 'Kahan Hai Kanoon' opposite Aditya Pancholi, and 'Pyaar Karke Dekho' opposite Govinda. She was seen in films such as 'Jung Baaz', 'Sheshnaag', and 'Taqdeer Ka Tamasha', amongst others.
She was last seen in the 1996 film 'Zordaar' directed by Ajay Kashyap. The movie featured Govinda, Aditya Pancholi, and Neelam in lead roles.
