Actor Ewan McGregor recently discussed his experience working alongside his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, on the set of 'A Gentleman in Moscow', particularly addressing a risque scene they shared.
McGregor revealed that they had an intimacy coordinator present during the filming of intimate scenes in the new drama series. "It remains necessary, not just for us actors but also for the crew," McGregor mentioned in a Radio Times cover story, according to variety.com.
He emphasized the discomfort of being exposed in front of others, both physically and emotionally. "It's strange to bare oneself in front of a group of people, to be intimate with the camera," McGregor expressed.
Drawing a parallel to choreographed dance scenes, McGregor underscored the significance of having an intimacy coordinator involved in such delicate sequences. "Just like you'd have a choreographer for a dance scene, it's become an integral part of the process now. They act as a mediator between the director and the actors," he explained.
In 'A Gentleman in Moscow', McGregor takes on the role of Count Alexander Rostov, while Winstead portrays Anna Urbanova, a character described as "a glamorous, independent, and self-made film actress, at the peak of her stardom."
