The upcoming musical comedy “Power Ballad,” directed by John Carney, has officially joined forces with Lionsgate for distribution.
Starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas in leading roles, the film is slated for release across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland, according to Deadline.
“I’ve long admired John’s films and have been keenly interested in this project for quite a while,” remarked Adam Fogelson, Chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “It brings together John’s incredible creativity with a compelling concept and a stellar cast. I’m thrilled that he and the team have chosen us to bring it to life.”
Described as an “inspiring and music-centric narrative,” the film features Rudd as a wedding singer and Jonas as a rock star.
At 55, Rudd is famously known for his role as Mike Hannigan on the beloved sitcom “Friends.” Meanwhile, 31-year-old Jonas has appeared in notable projects like “Camp Rock,” the “Jumanji” series, and “Kingdom.”
