Renowned Bollywood personality Karan Johar has unveiled the first look of the much-awaited film 'Dhadak 2'. He announced it on his Instagram handle as he shared a video, which gave an insight into the film's thematic flavor.
He captioned it with KJo, "This story is different. Once upon a time, there was a king and queen, whose love knew no caste. That's the story. Presenting 'Dhadak 2', starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, directed by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 is in cinemas on November 22."
The montage of the video has mostly text elements, which are on the struggles of Dalits and the fight against caste-based discrimination. Most of the text overlays are in blue, which signifies a nod towards Ambedkarite ideologies.
Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi are leading the movie, with characters from two different worlds. The film tries to portray the discrimination faced by people of marginalized castes and bring it to the forefront.
The first film of the 'Dhadak' series marked the debut of Janhvi Kapoor in Bollywood, alongside Ishaan Khatter. It was a remake of Marathi blockbuster 'Sairat' by Nagraj Manjule.
'Dhadak 2' is all set to hit the screens on November 22, promising the audience a ride of societal complexities and human relationships.
