Renowned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, currently immersed in preparations for her forthcoming political period drama 'Emergency', has officially stepped into the realm of politics.
Set to vie for a seat in the Lok Sabha elections on the BJP ticket from Himachal Pradesh, Ranaut has elucidated her motivation for venturing into politics.
Expressing gratitude to the Indian populace for their unwavering support throughout her artistic journey, the actress articulated her desire to reciprocate by serving society, deeming politics as the most efficacious avenue for such endeavors.
Addressing the media at an event on Monday, Ranaut underscored that her foray into politics transcends mere pursuit of fame or fortune, emphasizing her earnest commitment to national service.
"God's benevolence has bestowed upon me much," she remarked. "For me, politics isn't about self-aggrandizement or monetary gain; it's a solemn duty towards the people. As public figures, the onus is on us to contribute meaningfully to society."
Highlighting the symbiotic relationship between her success and the people's support, Ranaut pledged to surpass expectations and render back to society manifold. She also lauded the BJP for its inclusive ethos and principled governance.

Echoing Ranaut's sentiments, her father, Amardeep Ranaut, affirmed her decision as a noble endeavor aimed at societal betterment, emphasizing their family's apolitical stance devoid of animosity towards any faction.
Earlier pronouncements from the Bharatiya Janata Party revealed Ranaut as their nominee for the Mandi constituency, alongside Rajeev Bhardwaj for the Kangra seat in Himachal Pradesh.
