Kangana Ranaut Affirms She and Shah Rukh Khan Represent the 'last generation of stars'.

"No, it's not as simple as that. There's no artist in the world whose every film is a blockbuster. Shah Rukh Khan's films didn't perform well for ten years, then 'Pathaan' emerged victorious. None of my films resonated with audiences for 7-8 years, then 'Queen' struck gold. Subsequently, there were some noteworthy successes. 'Manikarnika' found its stride 3-4 years ago. Now, 'Emergency' is on the horizon, and it might just be a massive hit," she remarked.

Renowned National Film Award recipient, Kangana Ranaut, has sparked considerable attention with her recent declaration of venturing into politics. Despite her illustrious career in acting, she has encountered a dry spell at the box office for over four years. Responding to inquiries from Times Now regarding her political aspirations, possibly prompted by her recent streak of film setbacks, she drew parallels with Shah Rukh Khan's career trajectory.

Prior to her 2023 action-packed thriller 'Tejas,' Ranaut's cinematic outings like 'Judgementall Hai Kya,' 'Thalaivii,' 'Dhakad,' and 'Chandramukhi 2' failed to captivate moviegoers.

Drawing comparisons between herself and the 'Pathaan' star, she asserted, "Moreover, with the advent of OTT platforms, actors now have abundant opportunities to showcase their talent. We represent the final cohort of stars; new actors aren't yet dominating OTT platforms. We are recognizable figures, and fortunately, still sought after. So, it's not as dire as it seems."

She justified her political plunge by expressing her desire to engage more with the tangible world rather than being solely absorbed in the realm of arts.

In the meantime, Ranaut is gearing up to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from her hometown, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on the BJP's ticket. On the acting front, she is slated to portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 'Emergency.'
