The trailer for The Diplomat, which stars John Abraham as the famous Indian diplomat J.P. Singh, has been released, and it looks riveting.
The film is set to showcase the duality and intense risk that comes with diplomacy and the work that has to be done by a diplomat to resolve sensitive matters.
The birth anniversary of Sushma Swaraj saw the release of the trailer, which serves as an homage to her for assisting in the repatriation of Indian citizen Uzma in 2017 with the help of diplomat J.P. Singh.
Regarding the role, John Abraham said, “I do not see negotiating as simply a means to an end of conflict but rather as a point of war in itself. It was a great opportunity to step into the world of J.P. Singh where the person has to be a paramount of knowledge, patience, and a compassionate hero. Uzma’s story demonstrates a particular strength and fierceness of India that I am grateful to portray on screen.”
With respect to the film, producer Bhushan Kumar was enthusiastic, and underscored how The Diplomat is a textbook example of cinema that is driven by content. “This is a story that connects and inspires. We are glad to be the bearers of this story and we intend to tell it with utmost integrity and fervor,” he explained.
The diplomat is set to release on March 7 and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar (T-Series), John Abraham (JA Entertainment), Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, and Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films). Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, Rakesh Dang (fortune Pictures/Seeta Films) contributed on behalf of the respective studios.
