Pop icon Jennifer Lopez has openly shared that her latest album, "This Is Me... Now," might mark the culmination of her music career. The celebrated artist, aged 54, revealed that this album, centered around her relationship with Hollywood star Ben Affleck, signifies both closure and new beginnings.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lopez disclosed the creative process behind the album, emphasizing the significance of each element for her devoted fans. Reflecting on the possibility of this being her final studio project, she hinted at a sense of fulfillment, suggesting that these albums could become cherished collector's items over time.
"We did a bunch of different album covers. We try to do stuff that’s very special for the fans and do collector's items and things like that that they can have forever and ever. The truth is I don't even know if I'll ever make another album after this. It’s such the quintessential kind of Jennifer Lopez J.Lo project and I really feel very fulfilled, so they really will be collector’s items at a certain point,” she said.
Despite her manager and collaborator, Benny Medina, possibly being unaware of her contemplation, Lopez candidly acknowledged the potential finality of her musical journey with this release. She expressed gratitude for pouring her heart and soul into the project while acknowledging the toll it took on her.
"This Is Me... Now" serves as a successor to her 2002 album, "This Is Me... Then," according to reports from Female First UK. However, amidst talks of potential finality, Lopez dropped hints of an upcoming global tour, her first in 12 years. She passionately conveyed her desire to bring the album's tracks to life onstage, emphasizing the suitability of the songs for a live performance.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Lopez underscored her eagerness to hit the stage again, emphasizing the importance of a live experience for her latest record. While no official tour announcement has been made, Lopez's enthusiasm for sharing her music with live audiences remains palpable.
