Jacqueline Fernandez Seeks Restraining Order in Delhi Court Against Alleged Conman Chandrashekhar's Letters

Jacqueline's application argues that Chandrashekhar has been writing letters to the media containing unwarranted statements that outrage her modesty.

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has taken legal action by approaching a Delhi court to seek immediate directions restraining alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar from issuing any letters related to her to the media. The plea specifically requests orders to prevent the dissemination of letters, statements, or messages about the actor by Chandrashekhar, who is the prime accused in the case.

Jacqueline's application argues that Chandrashekhar has been writing letters to the media containing unwarranted statements that outrage her modesty. She asserts that these letters are an attempt by Chandrashekhar to intimidate and threaten her, preventing her from revealing the truth as a prosecution witness.

In response, Chandrashekhar's counsel deems Jacqueline's application frivolous, bogus, and based on the concealment of material facts. He plans to file an appropriate intervention application and an application under Section 340 CRPC.

Jacqueline emphasizes the distress caused by the unsolicited dissemination of these letters to the media, expressing concerns for her safety and well-being. The plea names the Superintendent of Mandoli prison and Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing, urging them to prevent further communication from Chandrashekhar.

The actor requests the court to issue directions to the probe agency and the Superintendent of Jail, Mandoli, to restrain Chandrashekhar from issuing any further letters, messages, or statements addressed to her. Additionally, she seeks a detailed report about the action taken against Chandrashekhar and any other orders the court deems fit.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) expresses concern that the harassment and threats against an important witness (Jacqueline) could impact the trial. Chandrashekhar's counsel questions why Jacqueline has not been made an accused in the case when evidence against her was brought forward by the Directorate of Enforcement.
