Harmonizing Stars: Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas Take Center Stage in 'Power Ballad'

The "official storyline description" from the movie tells that "Power Ballad" is "an uplifting music-driven story about a wedding singer, a rock star, and the song that comes between them."

The script has been written by John Carney and Peter McDonald, who wrote "The Bachelor Weekend," according to the report.

Talking about collaborating with Nick Jonas and Rudd, John Carney said, "I'm thrilled to collaborate with such talented individuals. Peter and I have been refining this script for years, and now having Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas on board feels like a dream come true."

30WEST, WME Independent, and UTA Independent Film Group are preparing for the film's presentation at the Cannes Film Festival this month.

Alex Walton of WME told his statement that "Power Ballad" is an exciting and heartwarming film promising to be both fun and heartwarming – two popular themes with today's audiences, which the global appeal of Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas can combine with Carney's unique vision to deliver exactly what buyers are looking for."

The WWII drama Midway and the Jumanji flicks are among the onscreen credits of Jonas, who is also a pop singer with the Jonas Brothers. Rudd's future projects include the indie film Friendship, which stars Tim Robinson and Kate Mara, and A24's Death of a Unicorn, which stars Jenna Ortega. Rudd is now playing in theatres with the Ghostbusters film Frozen Empire.
