Gurmeet Choudhary on Portraying Lord Ram, A Chance to Play the World's Most Significant Role

Actor Gurmeet Choudhary, known for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the 2009 television series 'Ramayan,' expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play such significant roles alongside his wife Debina Bonnerjee, who played Sita.

The actor, who worked on 'Ramayan' for almost 15 months, noted that the role taught him how to handle difficulties with a smile and solve problems gracefully. Gurmeet expressed his admiration for the way Lord Ram faced challenges in the epic and used that inspiration to navigate his own life.

Discussing the upcoming Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, Gurmeet expressed excitement, comparing the atmosphere to Diwali. He mentioned the energy and power he felt during a visit to Ayodhya two years ago when the temple was still under construction.

Gurmeet fondly recalled watching Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana' in the 1980s and considered it a dream come true to portray Lord Ram in the 2009 adaptation. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the positive impact it had on his life.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Gurmeet conveyed a sense of celebration and likened the occasion to the festive spirit of Diwali.
