Falu's Song on Millets, Featuring PM Modi, Earns Grammy Nomination

The song "Abundance of Millets," featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category for the Grammy Awards 2024. The track focuses on the health benefits of millets and the government's efforts to promote this cereal. It showcases the talents of Indian-American Grammy-winning singer Falu (Falguni Shah) and her husband, singer Gaurav Shah.

The song's nomination coincides with the International Year of Millets in 2023, an initiative proposed by India and endorsed by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Governing Bodies and the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly. Falu, born in Mumbai, collaborated with PM Modi to write the song, which was released in June, bringing attention to the nutritional value and promotion of millets.
