The producer of "The Sabarmati Report," which she claimed was not a "Sanghi sarkar" film, said in a media interaction that just ended during the trailer launch, "I am a Hindu." But explained further: "Being a Hindu means you are secular.".
When asked if she was afraid that her film going to be censored to the censor board, Ektaa said, "I wasn't even afraid of this because I've never worked in my life because I was in fear of." Continuing the fact that she is a Hindu and yet the core of a Hindu, being a Hindu, it means she is secular,. I will never make a comment about any religion because I am a Hindu.
The producer has also denied allegations that she had approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her project, "The Sabarmati Report". She was asked if the team had sought Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat when the events in the film took place. Ektaa responded, "I am not associated with any wing. The only wing here is the wing of truth, and it's the flight of that wing.".
The trailer of "The Sabarmati Report" unveiled on November 6, giving a thrilling peek into the tragic events aboard the Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002, near Godhra railway station in Gujarat. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the movie features Raashii Khanna and Vikrant Massey as journalists investigating, television actress Ridhi Dogra features in significant roles.
Kapoor shared the trailer on her Instagram handle. In the caption, she wrote, "History is the witness, whether it is country or human, it takes care of it only after falling. No matter how long the period of lies is, only truth changes it! #TheSabarmatiReportTrailer out now."
This will be the first film Massey is working with Raashii Khanna on-screen.
The Sabarmati Report is directed by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan. It is scheduled to be released on 15 November.
