The attorney for Disha Salian's father lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police on Tuesday, accusing Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray, a former city police commissioner, and some others of being involved in her death.
Disha Salian, a celebrity manager, reportedly fell from a high-rise residential building in Mumbai’s Malad in June 2020. Her tragic demise occurred just days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide, a case that later sparked intense debates across Bollywood and dominated national news for months.
Earlier this month, Disha's father expressed new fears, stating that his daughter had died due to a conspiracy. He specifically named Aaditya Thackeray and some others as being involved in the matter. However, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader has categorically denied the charges.
On Tuesday, the attorney, Nilesh Ojha, officially filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police, accusing Aaditya Thackeray, his security staff, actors Dino Morea and Suraj Pancholi, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, sacked officer Sachin Vaze, and actor Rhea Chakraborty as accused.
"Today, we have lodged a written complaint with the Commissioner of Police, and the Joint Commissioner of Police Crime has accepted it," Ojha informed the media. "The accused in this case are Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Suraj Pancholi and his bodyguard, Parambir Singh, Sachin Vaze, and Rhea Chakraborty."
Ojha also accused Parambir Singh, who was the Police Commissioner of Mumbai during the time when Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput died, of engineering a cover-up.
"Parambir Singh was the brain behind the cover-up in this case. He conducted a press conference and made up lies to shield Aaditya Thackeray. The investigation documents of the NCB confirm that Aaditya Thackeray had a role in the drug trade, and this fact has also been stated," Ojha claimed.
He added that all these facts were mentioned in the complaint filed with the Mumbai Police.
Earlier, the lawyer had alleged that Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, and Suraj Pancholi, along with Thackeray's bodyguards, had sexually assaulted the celebrity manager.
Disha's father has also approached the Bombay High Court with a new petition seeking an investigation into his daughter's death. The controversy has once again fueled political tensions between the ruling Mahayuti alliance and Shiv Sena (UBT).
Disha Salian's Death Case
Disha, who was Sushant Singh Rajput's manager, died on June 8, 2020, after allegedly falling from a high-rise building in Mumbai. Police had then registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
The case is being investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) established by the government in 2023. In his petition, Disha's father had accused a party at her place on June 8, with Aaditya Thackeray, Suraj Pancholi, and Dino Morea in attendance.
Refuting the charges, Aaditya Thackeray termed them as politically motivated efforts to malign his image.
"This has been going on for the last five years. If the issue is in court, I will counter in court," the Worli MLA had said last week, implying that the BJP was the hand behind the allegations to defame his image.
