Actor Dilip Joshi has finally clarified the baseless rumors surrounding the alleged tussle with the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Asit Modi.
In a statement, Dilip dismissed the reports as "completely false" and questioned whether some people might be jealous about the success of the show that is uncoiling year after year. He was surprised at the unfounded claims where there was no truth attached.
The actor also has to say, "I just want to clear the air about all these rumors going around. There have been some stories in the media about me and Asit Bhai that are completely false, and it really saddens me to see such things being said." Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is like family for me and millions of fans and when these baseless rumors float around it hurts not only us but also our loyal viewers.
Joshi added, “It’s disheartening to see negativity being spread about something that has brought so much joy to so many for so many years. Every time such rumours pop up, it feels like we’re constantly explaining that they are completely untrue. It’s tiring, and it’s frustrating because it’s not just about us—it’s about all the fans who love the show and get upset reading these things.”
The statement further read, "Earlier, there were even rumors about me leaving the show. Completely false. And now, it feels like every few weeks, there's another new story trying to defame Asit Bhai and the show in some way.". It's frustrating to see these things appear time after time again, and sometimes I wonder if some people just can't stand to see the show still thriving. I don't know who is out there spreading these stories, but I have to put it out there for the record: here I am, working every day with the same passion and love for the show, and I am not going anywhere. I've been along with this great journey for so long, and I will also continue to be a part of it."
Dilip, who plays the role of Jethalal in the popular sitcom, concluded by saying, "We all stand together in our commitment to make this show the best it can be, and I just wish the media would take a moment to verify the facts before printing such hurtful stories. Let's focus on the good and the happiness this show brings to so many. Thank you to our fans for always supporting us-it really means the world".
According to numerous reports by media, Dilip became enraged while having an argument with Asit. He, in his fit of anger, even allegedly grabbed Modi by the collar and gave a threat to quit the show. However, as revealed, Asit managed to calm him down. According to reports, the incident supposedly occurred in August and was apparently over a leave request.
