Actor Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth have reportedly received an order of divorce from the Chennai Family Welfare Court. This is due to a mutual agreement after declaring their incapability of maintaining the married life.
As reported by sources, Dhanush and Aishwarya arrived at the court on November 21 and made known their wish to end the marital life together. The final judgment came on November 27.
Dhanush and Aishwarya got married in a lavish ceremony in Chennai in the year 2004. After 18 years of marriage, they went public with their separation in a joint statement in 2022, stating that this has been a journey of growth, understanding, and adaptation for them.
The statement further added, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, parents, and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting."
Today, we are at a place where our ways are parting. Aishwaryaa/Dhanush and I have decided to separate as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this." The couple continues to co-parent their two sons, Yatra and Lingaa.
