The heist comedy "Crew" has taken the box office by storm, featuring an ensemble cast including Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon. Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan and produced by Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor, and Shobha Kapoor, the film made an impressive global debut, grossing Rs 20.07 crore on its opening day.
Setting a new benchmark, "Crew" has secured the title of the "highest-ever opening for a three-female lead film worldwide," as per the filmmakers. In India alone, the film amassed a net collection of Rs 10.28 crore, signaling its widespread appeal.
Producer Ektaa R Kapoor expressed gratitude on Instagram, thanking India for the overwhelming response. Tabu and Kriti also joined the celebration, hailing the film's day one collections as "historic."
Kareena Kapoor Khan, delighted to reunite with Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor after "Veere Di Wedding," expressed her excitement for their collaboration in "Crew." She praised her co-stars and the director, expressing confidence in their collective success.
"Crew" revolves around three air hostesses portrayed by Kareena, Tabu, and Kriti, facing an uncertain future as their airline faces bankruptcy. Their fate takes a dramatic turn when they stumble upon a dead passenger smuggling gold biscuits, setting the stage for a thrilling heist adventure.
With stellar performances by Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in key roles, "Crew" promises an entertaining cinematic experience for audiences worldwide.
