Couldn't pay half of last years's tax due to 'No Work': Kangana Ranaut

Sharing a report of the govt’s 'Each One Pay One' policy on her Instagram handle, Kangana wrote “Even though I come under highest tax slab pay almost 45 percent of my income as tax, even though I am the highest tax-paying actress but because of no work haven’t paid half of my last year’s tax yet.” She also said that she doesn’t mind the government charging interest on the pending amount.

Kangana Ranaut, who claims to be one of the highest-paid Bollywood actresses and sixth-highest tax-paying actor, recently revealed that for the first time in her entire career, she has failed to pay half of her last year’s tax because of 'no work'. She also said that she doesn’t mind the government charging interest on the pending amount.

“I am late in paying tax but the government is charging me interest on that pending tax money, still I welcome this move.” Ending her post on a positive note, Kangana wrote, “Time could be tough for us individually but together we are tougher than the time," she added.

On the work front, Kangana will make her next silver screen appearance with  J.Jayalalithaa’s biopic titled Thalaivi, which was postponed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in India. Besides the biopic, she has also announced an untitled political drama and ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda.’
