And as and when the calendar rolls over to his name, Samuel Frederick Smith, along with his new band Coldplay, leaves behind a trail of spectacular sounds in 'Paradise', 'A Sky Full Of Stars', 'The Scientist' and 'Fix You'. Now, on January 18 and 19, the British rock band is going to rock Mumbai, popularly known as the entertainment capital of India, for the second time.
This is the second time Coldplay will be performing in India; the band composed of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer and percussionist Will Champion, last visited the country when they played in Mumbai as part of the Global Citizen Festival in 2016.
The band will perform at D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium, Nerul, Navi Mumbai as part of the band's Music of the Spheres World Tour. This comes after an incredible sellout success for the band's summer 2024 European stadium shows and the announcement of eight new shows in the UK.
Music Of The Spheres World Tour has already seen more than 10 million ticket sales worldwide since it began in March 2022 across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. This tour is considered the most attended by a group of all time. Besides, between January and April 2025, the tour will visit Abu Dhabi, Seoul, and Hong Kong.
The set list will include 'Yellow', 'The Scientist', 'Clocks', 'Fix You', 'Viva La Vida', 'Paradise', 'A Sky Full Of Stars' and 'Adventure Of A Lifetime' in the spectacular stadium show bursting with lasers, fireworks and LED wristbands. On other news, Coldplay's new album, 'Moon Music', is being released on October 4, 2024; each LP is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
The band recently issued a new update regarding their sustainability efforts, which indicates that comparatively, the current tour has led to 59% fewer CO2e emissions on a show-by-show basis. The tickets of the concert of Coldplay in Mumbai will be available for booking on September 22, 2024, on BookMyShow. BookMyShow Live has developed and marketed Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres World Tour across India.
