Renowned singer Michael Bublé, known for his iconic association with Christmas music, surprisingly bent his rule against holiday collaborations by teaming up with Cher for a revamped rendition of his 2005 single. The crooner usually declines such offers during this time, having become a symbol of the season since his 2011 album 'Christmas.'
In a statement to the Daily Star's Wired column, Bublé humorously shared his annual predicament, stating, "Every late September/October, all sorts of artists, even the biggest ones, call me up with this idea, 'Let's do a Christmas...' And I go, (mimics hanging up) 'click,' I reply, 'Thank you so much, I'm sure you'll nail it.'"
He emphasized, "I made one Christmas record, 12 years ago! One!"
However, the acclaimed singer made an exception when Cher reached out, acknowledging her status as an icon. Bublé expressed his admiration, stating, "That changes when Cher calls. Firstly, when Cher calls, you answer. And secondly, she expressed interest in covering 'Home,' a song I wrote long ago, and I still hold it dear."
Despite collaborating with various music legends like Justin Bieber, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga, Bublé hailed Cher, praising her as "one of the greatest vocalists of our time," making the collaboration an effortless decision.
Away from the holiday cheer, Bublé humorously teased his playful side, confessing to a touch of Scrooge-like behavior during the festive season. Jokingly, he said, "When fans approach me for a selfie, I usually ask for $5, which disappoints them, and I'll never quite grasp why. But during the holidays, from late October to early January, it's $10; the prices have doubled."
Bublé's unexpected duet with Cher adds a fresh twist to his usual holiday stance, showcasing his willingness to make exceptions for legendary artists while injecting humor into the festive spirit.
