The filmmakers of 'Gladiator II' recently released a BTS video of the film shoot. This is an elaborate and raw look at how actors go through transformation to be ancient warriors.
The video shows the strict training, such as grueling fight choreography and mastering of historical weapons, so that gladiatorial combat is as realistic as possible. Relating how strictly prepared themselves for this film, the cast can also be heard saying that endurance, discipline, and precision are very crucial in having that raw intensity of the Roman arena.
The director of this movie says that the training process was pretty grueling with words, "I put these guys through hell; there was a lot of physical training," while Paul Mescal does the same for physicality for this film as well. Pedro Pascal adds, "I had some training with swords before, but nothing like this."
Earler, the makers released character posters from the movie. The posters feature the film's illustrious star cast, including Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, Joseph Quinn, and Fred Hechinger, as they offer a peek into the highly awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's 2000 classic starring Russell Crowe.
The posters show pictures: the poses do not provide a look at the ambronce's harsh environment of the Roman Empire. Paul Mescal as Lucius stands up against a traditional armored gladiator pose, straps cutting his bare chest. Pedro Pascal's poster doth picture General Acacius beneath that brooding expression. And Denzel Washington owns absolute authority as Macrinus-the most awaited character.
Other posters star actor Joseph Quinn, sporting a blond look as Emperor Geta, and returning actress Connie Nielsen playing Lucius' mother, Lucilla. Fred Hechinger plays Emperor Caracalla, giving that particular character an energetic yet piercing glance into his eyes.
'Gladiator II' is coming into theatres on November 15.
