During a conversation at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, Tarantino evaded questions about 'The Movie Critic,' teasing the audience by saying, "I can't tell you guys (anything) until you see the movie. I'm tempted to do some of the character's monologues right now, but I'm not going to. Maybe if there were fewer video cameras. You just have to wait and see."

According to Variety, if Brad Pitt's involvement in 'The Movie Critic' is confirmed, it is likely that filming won't commence until mid-year or later. As of now, no studio is attached to the project, which is slated to shoot in California and receive a $20 million tax credit.

Brad Pitt is expected to allocate a portion of 2024 to film a Formula One racing feature directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for 'Top Gun: Maverick'. The Apple production sees Pitt playing a veteran driver who comes out of retirement to compete alongside a rookie racer and the titans of the sport.

Pitt and Tarantino previously collaborated on 'Inglourious Basterds' (2009) and 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood' (2019), the latter earning Pitt an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,' co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, was also a box office success with $377 million globally. Tarantino has expressed his intention to retire from filmmaking after his 10th film, having directed iconic works like 'Pulp Fiction,' 'Kill Bill,' 'Django Unchained,' and others throughout his career.
