Bombay HC to Hear Disha Salian Death Case on April 2

However, Aaditya Thackeray has strongly rejected all allegations and claims made in the case.

The Bombay High Court will hear a petition by Satish Salian, the father of the deceased Disha Salian, on April 2. The petition demands the registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and others in relation to the death of Disha.

However, Aaditya Thackeray has strongly rejected all allegations and claims made in the case.

In the plea, Satish Salian states that his daughter threw a party at her home on June 8, 2020, and Aaditya Thackeray, actors Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea attended the party. He contends that there are many unanswered questions regarding her death and is seeking the court to order authorities to file an FIR and conduct a proper investigation.

The petition has also been served on former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official Sameer Wankhede via Satish Salian's attorney. Wankhede's attorney, Advocate Faiz Merchant, has said that Wankhede will submit a detailed affidavit to the High Court, covering all the points mentioned in the petition and explaining his involvement in the case.

Wankhede is likely to produce important evidence collected from his official inquiry, especially about Rhea Chakraborty and Aaditya Thackeray. It is indicated that Wankhede's affidavit, which was leaked in the media prior to the filing of the petition, involves some serious accusations that may involve some noted personalities.

The court will hear Satish Salian's plea, keeping in mind the issues pertaining to the circumstances leading to the death of Disha. The result of the hearing could be crucial to the direction of the case.

Disha Salian, who was a former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, under mysterious circumstances after she allegedly fell from the 14th floor of a high-rise building in Mumbai.

Then, the Mumbai Police had lodged an Accidental Death Report (ADR). Six days after that, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence. Though the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has undertaken the inquiry into the death of the actor, in 2023, the Maharashtra government established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Disha's death.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena has asked for a CBI probe into the death of Disha Salian. Party legislators have also sought an investigation into the role of former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, with the implication that there might have been coercive pressure on Disha's family.
