The most awaited movie of the year, Bell Bottom starring Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor opened to positive reviews from critics and the audience. The film saw its release amid the coronavirus restrictions in many states and ended up performing below expectations. Despite seeing an upward trend on Sunday, which was the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the thriller failed to do massive business at the box office.
After an impressive business on the weekend, the dip seen on Monday was quite normal but the dip Bell Bottom saw was surprising. According to the report by Bollywood life, while the Monday business was expected to be in the range of Rs 2 crore, it approximately collected around Rs 1.80 crore at the domestic.
However, with this dipping business, the spy action-thriller now stands with a grand total of Rs 14.55 crore in the five-day total collection. The reports also suggested that Bell Bottom still have chances to withstand business if further relaxations are made across the country as collections might inch closer to Rs 45 crore.

It also dethroned Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Roohi, which was released in March, as a film with the biggest opening weekend collection this year. Roohi had collected ₹12.58 crore and had also released it on a Thursday.
The story of the thriller depicts the real-life story of an intelligent spy and is written by Aseem Arora and Pervez Shaikhand. In the film, Akshay Kumar is seen portraying the role of the spy who conquers many difficulties to achieve his goal.
After BellBottom, Akshay has multiple projects in the pipeline. This includes Bachchan Panday, Raksha Bandhan, Atrangi Re and Prithviraj.
