Amitabh Bachchan has commended External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for his bold response to Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu's allegations against India.
The Bollywood legend took to social media platform X to share his admiration for Jaishankar's handling of the situation. Jaishankar's remarks came in response to Muizzu's accusation that "India was being a bully in the sub-continent."
In the tweet shared by Bachchan, Jaishankar was seen addressing Muizzu's claims, emphasizing India's substantial support to neighboring nations in times of need. Jaishankar highlighted India's contribution of $4.5 billion in aid and its provision of vaccines during the Covid-19 pandemic as evidence against the notion of India being a bully.
Jaishankar asserted, "Big bullies don't provide $4.5 billion when their neighbours are in trouble." He also emphasized India's humanitarian efforts, stating, "Bullies don't supply vaccines to other countries when Covid is on."
Impressed by Jaishankar's eloquent response, Bachchan lauded him with a "WAH...!!! Well said, Sir."
