Amitabh Bachchan frequently reflects on the impermanence of fame and how, in time, the fan base could potentially run thin.
However, his loyal followers remain to disappoint him, sitting in huge numbers each Sunday outside his house, Jalsa, just to glimpse the iconic actor.
Now 82 years old, Bachchan openly admitted in a recent blog that life on movie sets has grown progressively difficult with each passing year.
He confessed to making repeated errors, having trouble memorizing dialogues, and repeatedly asking filmmakers for another take to correct mistakes he feels he has committed. Even though he is considered one of the greatest actors of Hindi cinema, with a fan following across generations, his single-minded dedication to his work is still visible.
Meetings and meetings and meetings galore for work to arrive and this makes it a challenge, a test what to accept, what to deny, what to graciously decline.
The fact is that the discussions ultimately lead to the subject of the Film Industry, and how it operates and the State it is in, none of which I am familiar with AT ALL.". The worry has always been, what is the work I am receiving and will I or shall I be able to do justice to it, everything else is a blur. The Production, the Costs, the Marketing the Exhibition. et all. just an unknown non understandable dark, blur," Bachchan wrote in his blog.
He also confessed that with age, giving performances as expected has become more difficult. "and as you grow older it is not the line hurdle that needs to be learned, but rather the numerous contingencies pertaining to age which need to be learned in order to be able to perform — deliver content asked for. Then go home and appreciate the several mistakes made and how to correct them. an executive call in the middle of the night to the Director for the opportunity to re-do better or correct."
Considering the transience of fame, Bachchan penned, "Another day has passed, another writing has arrived, another meet with the Ef has been initiated at the GOJ and another apprehension still prevails. Will they be there or not? And there is feel and notice that the enthu of the well wishers slowly fades away."
. It must — professionals die out over time, when the sport will not sustain the talent and skill they leave behind, when the actor sees the face which does not see the face of the audience face. they disappear. It will be with all. Regardless of what they say otherwise, the cycle of life never ceases to pause.
Even while he struggles with these feelings, his Sunday meetings at Jalsa and his ongoing commitment to film show that his relationship with his people is stronger than ever.
