Menuka Poudel, a contestant on 'Indian Idol 14', left a lasting impression on singer and actor Amit Kumar, son of the legendary Kishore Kumar, with her impactful rendition of the songs 'Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi' and 'Zindagi Ke Safar Mein'.
The special episode titled 'Hum, Aap Aur Kishore' paid homage to the life of Kishore Kumar, featuring his son, Amit Kumar. The contestants, in a tribute to the iconic singer, performed memorable songs associated with renowned music composers who collaborated with Kishore Da.
Menuka showcased her talent with soulful renditions of ‘Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi’ from the 1975 classic ‘Aandhi’ and ‘Zindagi Ke Safar Mein’ from the 1974 movie ‘Aap Ki Kasam’.
Upon Amit's request, Menuka skillfully played the harmonium and performed 'Mere Naina Sawan Bhadon' from the 1976 romantic drama ‘Mehbooba’ alongside judge Shreya Ghoshal.
A visibly moved Amit Kumar praised Menuka, saying, “How do you sing so well? You sang the song live, and in one take, which is a rare occurrence. You are blessed by an angel. I am speechless, hats off to you.“
Judge Shreya Ghoshal, expressing her admiration, remarked, “Sometimes, I am really at a loss of words when it comes to you, Menuka. You sing every word and tune of a song with such finesse. I have always been a fan of you, and hearing compliments from a respected personality like Amit Kumar makes me feel proud.”
'Indian Idol Season 14' airs on Sony, offering a platform for talented individuals to showcase their musical prowess and receive recognition from industry legends.
