She says, in Hindi at one point, "Animal Vs Jigra… Ghar pe (at home)! I wouldn't say there's any competition between us. I think I am very fortunate that my husband (Ranbir Kapoor) is also my best friend and a wonderful actor. We often discuss our films and scenes with each other. I talked about Gangubai Kathiawadi and Jigra. Every time I had a doubt or confusion, I would discuss it with him, and he did the same with me for Animal."
She continues, "I know people have been comparing the two, but there really aren't many similarities. It's not just about Animal or Jigra; a common theme in many films is doing something for a loved one. It's a genre in itself, and many movies have been made on these lines. So aside from that one aspect, there aren't any direct similarities between the two films."
Ranbir Kapoor played the lead role in the movie Animal, which released in 2023, a character name Ranvijay Singh. It is a disturbed relationship of a father and son where Ranvijay is in quest of revenge because his father has been attempted to be assassinated.
In Jigra, Alia Bhatt will be seen as Satya Anand, a young woman, who in order to save her brother Ankur Anand from torture while he sits in a foreign jail, determines that she will rescue him from the hands of the jailer when Ankur gets sentenced to death. Alia's Eternal Sunshine Productions co-producing the film with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, this is set to release on October 11.
