Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt who has a release lined up in her kitty with her new movie 'Jigra', has quite shocked the audience by surprise appearance at the Grammy winning DJ Alan Walker's gig in Bengaluru.
Photographs and videos of Alia Bhatt greeting the crowd have gone viral on social media. One of the clips shows how Alia arrived on stage amidst cheers from the crowd. She said, "Namaskara (Hello) Bengaluru. Surprise, surprise.".
She is wearing a blue off shoulder bodycon dress along with heels. Alan wore a gray hoodie and black pants. He also wears a mask on his face.
Smiling and waving at the audience, the song 'Chal Kudiye' from 'Jigra' was played in the background. A picture shows Alia posing with Alan as they both hold each other.
International artistes are finding a steady footing in India, and this comes at Alia's appearance at Alan's show. In January this year, the British rock band Coldplay is set to perform in Mumbai and has generated quite a buzz around the same.
Meanwhile, Alia is next seen in 'Jigra' directed by Vasan Bala of 'Monica, O My Darling'. The film also has Vedang Raina, who has essayed the role of Alia's brother. Alia will portray the role of Satya, a devoted sister who will go to the edge of the world for her brother. She is determined to rescue her brother Ankur, played by Vedang.
The trailer of the film has been up a few days back, and from what can be gathered, 'Jigra' seems inspired from Russell Crowe-starrer 'The Next Three Days,' which itself was inspired from Fred Cavaye's French film 'Pour elle.'. Although in 'The Next Three Days' Russell Crowe resorts to extreme measures to break his wife out of jail after being wrongly convicted for her boss's murder, the lead characters of 'Jigra' are a brother and a sister.
Directed by Rohan Sopory, 'Jigra' is produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and presented by Viacom18 Studios and Eternal Sunshine Productions, which is set to hit the theatres on 11th October.
