Since November 11, students have been protesting in large numbers demanding that PCS preliminary and Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) examinations be conducted on the same day.

Looking at the number of candidates in the RO-ARO exam, we have formed a committee which will submit its report as soon as possible. A decision will be taken accordingly," Kumar said. "These students have been told that the exam has been postponed. They should have at least some patience," he added.

The committee was formed and we will wait for its report", said secretary of UPPSC. "They must wait for the committee's report. It's a big thing that despite preparation, we are not conducting the RO-ARO exam on scheduled day," Kumar said.

The UPPSC agreeing to the demands of aspirants after protest, postponed the RO and ARO exams Thursday and said it will conduct the PCS Preliminary Exam-2024 on an old pattern in one day.

The Commission also declared that it would form a committee on RO and ARO exams so that its transparency and fairness might be ensured.

This move of one-day announcement of PCS preliminary exam proved to be good news to some aspirants, while those who were preparing for RO and ARO exams seemed a bit dejected. The protesters vowed that they will continue the agitation till a decision is taken on the RO and ARO exams.
