UGC allows extension for submission of M.Phil/Ph.D thesis

"The UGC has approved that an extension of up to six months beyond June 30 may be given to M.Phil and Ph.D. students for thesis submission by their respective higher education institutions on a case-to-case basis based on the review of the student's work by the Research Advisory Committee and on the recommendation of the supervisor and head of the department," ET quoyed a UGC official as saying.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allowed universities and higher educational institutions to give another extension of up to six months beyond 30 June for M.Phil or Ph.D. thesis submission on a case-to-case basis after reviewing a student's work, according to a report by The Economic Times.

The extensions in submissions have been granted in view of the time lost by students amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
