GATE 2023 Examination: Admit Card released; know all important instructions

The GATE 2023 Examination will be conducted on 4, 5,11 and 12 February 2023. Answer key for this examination will be released on 21st of February and the candidates can submit challenges to the answer key from 22nd to 25th of February while the examination results will be announced on 16th of March 2023 and from 21st of March the score card will be available for downloading.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2023 (GATE 2023) Admit Card has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. The Applicants can download the admit card form the official Website of IIT Kanpur Gate 2023 – gate.iitk.ac.in. The GATE 2023 Examination will be conducted on 4, 5,11 and 12 February 2023. Answer key for this examination will be released on 21st of February and the candidates can submit challenges to the answer key from 22nd to 25th of February while the examination results will be announced on 16th of March 2023 and from 21st of March the score card will be available for downloading. 

IIT Kanpur has also issued some important instructions along with the admit card which should be followed by all the applicants on the day of examination. The GATE 2023 Admit card instructions are:

1. On the day of examination, all the applicants should carry their GATE 2023 Admit card print with and original, valid photo ID proof. The applicants must check the photo should be recognizing on the ID Proof and if it’s not they should bring different ID proof (Valid Photo ID Proofs are: Passport, PAN CARD, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Driving License).

2.  The GATE admit card will be considered valid if the photograph and signature both are clear. To make this sure, print the hall ticket/admit card on A4 Sized sheet using laser printer and preferably Colored print out.

3.  The Candidates should report at the examination center at least 90 minutes before the scheduled for the examination while the students would not be allowed to login 30 minutes after the starting of the examination. The students are allowed to login and start reading the instructions 20 minutes before the examination is started.

4.  During the examination a virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen which can be used for numerical calculations. So, the candidates are not allowed to carry any personal calculator or any other electronic devices. They should be carrying any charts, tables, papers, books, sheets, heavy ornaments in the exam hall.

5. A Scribble pad will be provided to each candidate for rough work and before using it they should write their name and registration number on it. The students can get only 1 scribble pad at any point of time and if the pad fills, they can ask for the other after returning previous one and at the end of the exam the remaining pads should be returned to the invigilator.

6.  The Candidates should bring a pen, pencil, transparent water bottle and a pocket-sized hand sanitizer and they are not allowed to bring any other stuff other than these. If any candidate will be having any item other than these things he or she would be deregistered or will be barred from the examination and /or subjected to disciplinary action which can include ban from appearing in the future exams.

7.   The Students cannot leave the exam hall before the examination it ended.

8. In Case there is a restriction on the movements in certain areas the candidates can use their GATE Admit card/hall ticket as the pass.
