Announcing the commencement of registrations, the university said, “The University of Delhi announces the commencement of registration for one-year-postgraduate programme which is being offered to students who have completed a FYUP under the UGCF 2022 (based on National Education Policy 2020) from the university.”

The introduction of the one-year postgraduate programme represents a significant academic change for the 2026-27 session. Until the 2025-26 academic year, the university offered only two-year postgraduate courses.

According to the university, the admission process has been divided into two phases. During the first phase, all eligible applicants must register through the dedicated portal by using their University of Delhi enrolment number and date of birth. Candidates are also required to pay an application fee of ₹250 per programme for the unreserved category, while applicants from reserved categories must pay ₹100 per programme.

Admissions to the one-year postgraduate courses will be granted purely on merit, with selection based on the marks secured by candidates in their FYUP. The university added that the second phase of the registration process will begin after the declaration of the eighth-semester results.
