Brokerage firm Zerodha has completed 14 years, Co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath announced in his Independence Day greeting on Thursday.
Kamath, who had suffered "a mild stroke" earlier this year, said it was time he returned to his passions.
In a social media post on X.com, Kamath shared, "Happy Independence Day. @zerodhaonline also turns 14 today so thank you for all the love." He co-founded Zerodha in 2010 with his younger brother Nikhil.
Kamath also shared a nostalgic video from 2018 featuring his son singing the Indian national anthem "Jana Gana Mana", and he accompanies him by playing the guitar.
Speaking on his health, Kamath said, "2024 has been a year of disaster for my health. I need to get back to playing for myself." In February, he had posted on social media that he had suffered "a mild stroke", after which he had drooping face and problems associated with reading, writing, and memory. He attributed it to factors such as bad sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, overexertion, or the emotional stress from his father's death.
First time since April's stroke, 44-year-old entrepreneur Raj Kundra told the media he is "slowly getting back to normal."
Kamath, an athlete famous for sharing fitness insights through social media, has brought to the fore some pertinent questions about the quality and safety of food. He termed as "ridiculous" the amount of sugar going into foods. He also brought to the fore the adulteration happening in everyday items like masalas, milk, and protein supplements.
He also pointed out the risks associated with "inferior chemicals used in food colouring and preservatives in fruits and vegetables." According to him, they are prejudicial to health.
"This applies to both packed foods and food from most restaurants," said Kamath.
