P&G India Names Kumar Venkatasubramanian as New CEO

Procter & Gamble India has revealed that Kumar Venkatasubramanian is set to assume the role of CEO for its operations in the country starting May 1.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta boasting nearly 24 years of professional experience, Venkatasubramanian presently holds the position of CEO, overseeing P&G's business in Australia and New Zealand.

Before his stint in Australia, Venkatasubramanian played a pivotal role in leading the sales team at P&G India until 2020.

Expressing optimism about Venkatasubramanian's appointment, Stanislav Vecera, P&G President for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, highlighted his extensive experience in shaping and executing business strategies in India.

Venkatasubramanian’s leadership tenure witnessed the expansion of numerous programs aimed at making a significant impact on both employees and the community. Notable among these initiatives was P&G ANZ’s landmark corporate partnership with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

In response to his appointment, Venkatasubramanian expressed eagerness to reconnect with the Indian market, emphasizing his commitment to understanding and fulfilling the needs of Indian consumers. He lauded the India organization for its consistent performance and balanced growth trajectory.

Looking ahead, Venkatasubramanian outlined plans to focus on a portfolio of everyday products, where superior performance drives brand preference. He stressed the importance of elevating all aspects of P&G's superiority strategy, including product quality, packaging, brand communication, retail execution, and value proposition.
