BookMyShow has reported a substantial increase in its revenue from operations, which surged 3.5 times from Rs 277 crore in FY22 to Rs 976 crore in FY23. This growth is outlined in the company's consolidated financial statement filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Notably, FY23 marks the first-ever profit for BookMyShow, posting a profit of Rs 85 crore compared to a loss of Rs 92 crore in FY22.
On a unit level, the company spent Rs 0.96 to earn a rupee in FY23, according to reports from Entrackr. Income from ticket booking accounted for 66% of the total operating revenue, reaching Rs 648 crore in FY23, a significant increase from Rs 227 crore in FY22.
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is evident in BookMyShow's financials, with its revenue plummeting to Rs 74 crore during the pandemic when multiplexes were either closed or had restricted access. Despite these challenges, the company has demonstrated resilience and a strong recovery in FY23.
