Wipro, the Bengaluru-based corporate giant, has clarified that the recent lawsuits filed against former top officials are purely a matter of contractual obligations and not personal. Thierry Delaporte, the CEO of Wipro, addressed the media after the announcement of the December quarter results, emphasizing that the company remains committed to business practices and is not destabilized by these legal actions.
Delaporte assured that Wipro, with its three decades of business experience, has a robust pipeline and is firmly committed to its employees. He acknowledged that talent acquisition and transformation within the organization might lead to some churn, and the company is prepared for such scenarios.
In a recent development, Wipro filed a lawsuit against its former Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Jatin Dalal, in the Bengaluru Civil Court. Dalal, who currently serves as the CFO of Cognizant, has responded by submitting an application to the court, seeking arbitration.
The legal action involves Wipro seeking damages of Rs 25.15 crore from Jatin Dalal for allegedly violating the non-compete clause of his employment contract. This follows a similar complaint filed by Wipro against its former senior vice president, Mohd Haque, for violating non-compete covenants by joining Cognizant, a direct competitor of Wipro. The company's stance emphasizes its commitment to upholding contractual agreements and business integrity.
