Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday unveiled the new Union Budget 2021 with a lot of promises. The budget was presented in a 2-hour long speech where Sitharaman discussed the budgeting and allocation of the capital in an extensive manner.
The major focus was largely on healthcare, infrastructure and privatising of government undertakings.
The government has decided to confine itself to only four strategic sectors- atomic energy, space and defence; power, petroleum, coal and other minerals; transport and telecommunications; and banking, insurance and financial services.
Other than the reforms in CPSEs, the Finance Minister announced many projects in different states. Infrastructure development, Health care sector, Railways, COVID vaccination drive etc. got a big boost with huge amounts of fund allocation.
