Sensex crosses 52,000 for the first time ever

The rise in the Indian indices came on the back of positive global cues.Healthy buying in the banking, finance and telecom stocks also supported the market. The top gainers on the Sensex were IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank, while ONGC, Tata Steel and Mahindra & Mahindra were the major losers.
Petrol crosses Rs 95/litre in Mumbai, nears Rs 90 in Delhi

In Mumbai, petrol crossed the Rs 95 per litre mark on Sunday. It was priced at Rs 95.21 per litre, against Rs 94.93 on Saturday. In the national capital, petrol is well on its course to reach the Rs 90 per litre mark. On Sunday, it was sold for Rs 88.73 per litre, 29 paise higher than the previous level of Rs 88.44 a litre.
'Elon Musk to make Tesla cars in Karnataka'

"American car company Tesla will set up its electric car division in Karnataka," State Chief Minister Yediyurappa said in a statement, which mainly aimed at appreciating the Union Budget that was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.

Diesel price rise highest in Delhi by 36 paise/litre

With this increase, the fifth consecutive this week, petrol is now priced at Rs 88.44 a litre and diesel Rs 78.74 a litre in the national capital. The petrol and diesel prices have increased 17 times in 2021 with the two auto fuels increasing by Rs 4.73 and Rs 4.87 per litre respectively, so far this year.
Favourable base effect lifts India's December industrial production

As per the Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production (IIP), the factory output grew by 1 per cent in December 2020 from a contraction of (-) 2.09 per cent in November and rose to 0.4 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year.
