India’s second IKEA store comes in Navi Mumbai

Set up with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore, this is the company’s first big format store in Maharashtra, spanning over 5.3-lakh sq ft and contains over 7,000 home furnishing products.

A new outlet of IKEA, global furniture giant known for its simple designs, is now opened to the public in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The inauguration for the new store was done this morning. 

Set up with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore, this is the company’s first big format store in Maharashtra, spanning over 5.3-lakh sq ft and contains over 7,000 home furnishing products.

Two smaller format city centre stores will also be opened in Mumbai in the coming year, the Business Standard reported. 

"With a planned investment of Rs 6,000 crore by 2030, IKEA aims to meet 25 million people in Maharashtra. IKEA will provide over 6000 jobs, of which 50 per cent will be for women," the company said in a statement earlier as per the report.
