In September, India's industrial output displayed a growth of 5.8 percent compared to the same month the previous year, as per data released by the Ministry of Statistics on Friday.
The manufacturing sector, crucial for generating employment opportunities for recent engineering and college graduates, exhibited a more moderate growth of 4.5 percent. Meanwhile, electricity generation saw a notable increase of 9.9 percent, and the mining sector experienced a robust double-digit growth of 11.5 percent.
It's worth noting that India's industrial output had previously surged to a 14-month high of 10.3 percent in August. Although this high growth was relative to a very low base of minus 0.7 percent in August 2022 when industrial production had contracted, it indicated a positive and noteworthy turnaround.
