Additionally, strategies such as fostering human-AI collaboration (37%) and reskilling/upskilling the workforce (25%) to meet evolving skill demands are deemed crucial.

Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, emphasized the diverse expertise sought after by employers, citing the prevalence of roles like data analysts, software engineers, sales engineers, project managers, and designers.

The tech industry's focus this year primarily centered on acquiring Generative AI skills (27%) and programming languages (22%) among employees, while employers sought skills such as cybersecurity (37%) and data science and analytics (29%) in their hires.

Looking ahead to 2024, aligning workplace strategies with the expectations of Generation Z employees emerges as a significant priority for employers. The report highlighted Gen Z's preferences for flexible work arrangements (38%), purpose-driven work (23%), and technology-driven environments (18%) within their workplaces. Understanding and meeting these preferences will be crucial for creating appealing workplace environments for the incoming workforce.
