Action to be Taken Against CEO Following Assault Allegations, Assures Naveen Jindal

Industrialist Naveen Jindal assured that the most stringent and necessary actions will be taken if it is verified that Dinesh Kr Saraogi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jindal Steel, committed sexual assault on a woman during a flight from Calcutta to Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

Naveen Jindal responded to her post on X, expressing gratitude for her bravery in coming forward: “Dear Ananya, thank you for reaching out and speaking up! It takes a lot of courage to do what you did and I want you to know that we have a zero-tolerance policy for such matters.”

He added, “I have asked the team to immediately investigate the matter and thereafter strictest and necessary action will be taken.”

In her account, the woman mentioned that she was seated next to Saraogi, who is approximately 65 years old and reportedly resides in Oman while traveling frequently.She further mentioned that the duo initially discussed general topics regarding their backgrounds and families. Saraogi, from Churu in Rajasthan, discussed his sons who are settled in the US.
The lady further went on to mention that the conversation turned toward her interests, including movies. Thereafter, he showed her some explicit content on his phone, leaving her "frozen in shock and scare".

She said that Saraogi started molesting her, following which she ran to the washroom and informed the flight staff. Fortunately, the Etihad team responded swiftly, shifting her to a different seating area and offering her tea and fruits.

However, she could not lodge a formal complaint at the time as her connecting flight to Boston was scheduled to leave in half an hour. She was escorted to her next gate to make sure Saraogi did not approach her. The cops questioned Saraogi, who did not deny the allegations. She came out with her story to raise awareness that such incidents could happen to anyone.
