Xiaomi Enters Automotive Industry, Reveals Debut Electric Vehicle

Xiaomi, a global technology powerhouse, announced its venture into the automotive industry, unveiling its highly anticipated first electric vehicle.

Introducing two electric vehicles, the XiaomiSU7 and XiaomiSU7Max, the company marked this milestone by expressing the significance of XiaomiSU7's debut in extending their expertise from smartphones to the automotive domain. In a statement, the company emphasized how this expansion completes the Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem they strive to create.

Highlighting the performance metrics, Xiaomi detailed that the XiaomiSU7Max accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 2.78 seconds, while the XiaomiSU7 achieves this feat in 5.28 seconds. Additionally, the SU7 reaches a top speed of 210 km/h, while the SU7Max hits 265 km/h.

Proudly joining the '2s Supercar Club' with its swift acceleration, the company touted the XiaomiSU7's remarkable speed in their announcement.

The EV will be offered in three striking color variants - Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green. Xiaomi emphasized five core technologies utilized in these electric vehicles: E-Motors, batteries, HyperCasting, autonomous driving, and a smart cabin experience.

While the pricing remains undisclosed, industry expectations suggest the SU7 may fall within the range of 200,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan (approximately Rs 25 to 35 lakh).

Anticipated to hit the market next year, the SU7 will be manufactured by a subsidiary of the China-owned automaker BAIC Group in a Beijing factory equipped with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles. This foray into electric vehicles signifies Xiaomi's stride into a new realm of innovation and technological prowess.
