Chevy Blazer EV Sales Halted Due to Software Quality Concerns: A Closer Look

Acknowledging the situation, GM stated, "It is aware that a limited number of Blazer EV owners have experienced some software quality issues.

GM, a leading automaker, has halted the sales of its new Chevy Blazer EV temporarily due to reported software issues, and the company is actively working on a solution.

Acknowledging the situation, GM stated, "It is aware that a limited number of Blazer EV owners have experienced some software quality issues. To ensure our customers have a great experience with their vehicle, we are temporarily pausing sales of Blazer EVs. Our team is working quickly to roll out a fix, and owners will be contacted with further information on how to schedule their update. We apologize for the inconvenience."

While the company did not disclose the exact number of affected vehicles, it emphasized that the issue is confined to a "limited" number of units.

Edmunds, which acquired a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AWD for its long-term test fleet, reported significant issues. With 23 fault codes identified during a diagnostic test, they described the situation as alarming, stating, "What we got back from the dealer was alarming: the single longest list of major faults we at Edmunds have ever seen on a new car." The long-term Blazer EV has been at the dealership for over two weeks with only 1,600 miles on the odometer.

InsideEVs shared a similar experience, revealing that their week-long test of the Blazer EV concluded after 28 hours. The vehicle's infotainment system, lacking CarPlay and Android Auto, went blank, and an attempt to charge the battery resulted in a "Service Vehicle Soon" error message.

The affected model, the AWD RS version of the all-electric Blazer SUV, has a starting price just over $60,000. GM assures customers that efforts are underway to swiftly address the software issues and that affected owners will be contacted for the necessary updates.
