Plans of launching Tesla cars for Indian markets have surfaced before as well when, in 2016, Elon Musk announced Tesla’s debut in India via Twitter. Some prominent figures like Paytm founder Vijay Sekar Sharma were amongst the first ones to pre-book the car. However, no confirmation followed up on Musk’s claim and the idea of India debut turned into speculation.

The Tesla Model 3 will come to India as a completely built unit and it's likely that the company will not sell its cars via dealerships. The car has a range of up to 500 kilometres and a top speed of 162 kmph. It can even do 0-100 kmph in 3.1 seconds. As of now, there is no official confirmation from the company on this.
