Maruti Suzuki has responded to its previous issues of safety by giving the Victoris a 5-star BNCAP rating on crash tests. The SUV itself comes with six airbags as a standard and, more importantly, is the first time the brand features Level-2 ADAS in India, beginning with this model.

The ADAS suite comprises such features as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction, lane keep assist, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitor with lane change alert. The Victoris also has disc brakes on all wheels and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold capability.

The Victoris has a clean, stylish design without over-accessorizing. Its front face borrows from the e-Vitara, featuring a blacked-out lower section and contrasting body-colored upper section. Thin LED headlamps are joined by a narrow chrome strip, and the bumper accommodates slightly raised fog lamps.

From the side, the length of the SUV is emphasized by a large quarter glass, and it is riding on 17-inch aero-cut alloy wheels featuring a turbine design. At the back, linked LED tail lamps produce a distinctive glow pattern unlike any other Maruti available for sale.

With dimensions measuring 4,360 mm in length, 1,655 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, the Victoris has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. There are 10 color choices available to buyers, three of which are dual-tone and seven of which are monotone, with Mystic Green and Eternal Blue launching as new additions.

Within, the Victoris boasts a three-stage dashboard in black and ivory dual-tone, accompanied by a soft-touch instrument panel, textured seat cover, and piano black trim to give it a premium cabin feel. Boot space is maximized even for the S-CNG variant, with the CNG cylinder housed beneath the floor.

The SUV is also filled with technology, such as a 10.1-inch Smartplay Pro-X touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-speaker Infinity system supporting 5.1-channel Dolby Atmos. A 10.25-inch instrument cluster is placed in the dashboard, a first for any Maruti Suzuki car. Also in the list of features are 64-color ambient lighting, PM2.5 air filter, hands-free gesture-controlled powered tailgate, 8-way powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors.

Victoris shares the powertrains of the Grand Vitara, with two choices available: a 1.5L naturally aspirated (NA) gasoline engine and a 1.5L strong-hybrid engine.

The 1.5L NA petrol churns out 103 hp and 139 Nm of twist, which can be had with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Factory-installed CNG versions are also available. Automatic versions have an AWD option called the All Grip Select system with Auto, Snow, Sport, and Lock modes, along with a hill descent control.

The 1.5L strong-hybrid configuration produces 92.5 hp and 122 Nm of torque, with an e-CVT transmission.

The 1.5L NA petrol gets 21.18 km/l with the manual transmission and 21.06 km/l with the auto. The AWD models fall to 19.07 km/l, while the CNG model gets 27.02 km/kg. The strong-hybrid model has a claimed fuel efficiency of 28.65 km/l.
