Maruti Suzuki India Hits Record Exports in October, While Tata Motors' Sales Remain Steady

Maruti Suzuki India witnessed a 5 per cent YoY decline in passenger vehicle sales with 159,591 units sold in the domestic market last month compared to 168,047 units in October 2023.

Maruti Suzuki (NS: MRTI) India on Friday said it sold a total of 206,434 units in the month of October, its highest ever monthly sales volume. The company also achieved highest-ever exports in the month. The country's largest automaker had sold 199,217 units in the same month last year.

Maruti Suzuki India witnessed a 5 per cent YoY decline in passenger vehicle sales with 159,591 units sold in the domestic market last month compared to 168,047 units in October 2023.

Maruti Suzuki India sold 1,269,852 units in the current fiscal FY25 in the April-October period of this fiscal compared to 1,249,302 units in the same period last fiscal FY24.

The company said that in the month of October, it sold 163,130 units of domestic sales and 10,136 units of sales to other OEMs.
The exports for the month of October stood at 33,168 units, up strongly from 21,951 units in the same period last year.

On its part, Tata Motors NS:TAMO reported to have sold 82,682 vehicles in the country and internationally for October on a par with 82,954 units for the same month last year while almost flat.

The CV sales stood at 34,259 units, the PV sales at 48,423 units.

Commercial vehicle sales in the home market, which includes both trucks and buses, recorded 15,574 units for October against 15,211 units for the same month last year.

Total sales of MH&ICV for domestic and international business was 16,274 units for trucks and buses during October, compared with 16,048 units for October 2023, the company said in a statement.

Tata Motors reported sales of 2,15,034 vehicles in the domestic and international market during the July-September period (Q2 FY25), the company said in a statement. The sales were, however, 13% lower than 2,43,024 units clocked during Q2 FY24.

Total commercial vehicle sales were 84,281 units, which is down 19 per cent YoY, and passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,30,753 units, down six per cent in the quarter.
