Mahindra Reports 11% Increase in June Auto Sales, Reaches 69,397 Units

The sale of commercial vehicles stood at 20,594 units during the same period in the domestic market.

Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday said it recorded an overall auto sales figure of 69,397 vehicles in June, up 11%, including exports. Under the Utility Vehicles segment, the Company registered strong growth of 40,022 vehicles sold in local markets, up 23%. With exports, its total UV sales reached 40,644 vehicles.

The sale of commercial vehicles stood at 20,594 units during the same period in the domestic market.

Commenting on the feat accomplished, Veejay Nakra, President of Automotive Division at M&M, claimed that June has been quite significant. The company rolled out its 200,000th XUV700 from its production facility and celebrated 25 years of the Bolero Pik-Ups, which is the segment leader in the LCV market.

On the other side, Mahindra & Mahindra came up with a massive investment plan for its electric vehicle venture. Stating that it is going to invest Rs 12,000 crore in its electric vehicle company, namely Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, for a period of three years, this will further enhance the EV operations and cement its position in the emerging market of electric vehicles.
