Hyundai Motor Reveals First Look at Upcoming Ioniq 9 Electric SUV

Hyundai Motor Wednesday teased its forthcoming all-electric Ioniq 9 sports utility vehicle in an image showing its giant, yet lean exterior.

Ioniq 9 is going to represent the largest of the vehicle classes in the Ioniq lineup that Hyundai Motor has ever ventured into the world of electric SUV models.

Hyundai says it is going to globally unveil the design and feature of Ioniq 9 next month.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor's total production in worldwide reached a milestone of 100 million units since the company was established. The company stated that it was able to do this after 57 years since the institution was established. In the hand-over ceremony, the company said that it is dispatching the 100 millionth and first vehicle, a Ioniq 5, straight to the customer after finishing its last check roll off from the last check conveyor belt of the shipping center at the plant.

"Reaching cumulative global production of 100 million vehicles is a meaningful milestone that was possible thanks to our customers around the world who have chosen and supported Hyundai Motor since the very beginning," Chang Jae-hoon, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor, had said.

Ulsan Plant was commissioned in 1968. This place the company holds is very historically important because it marked the birth of Korean automobile development. This is central to the location of electrification by the company. Hyundai, as a matter of fact, plans to have its single-dedicated EV plant here. Hyundai Motor also recorded the fastest growth from among the world's largest auto makers.

The company had made its global footprint across production facilities in Turkey, India, the United States and the Czech Republic into record achievements that included it surpassing 50 million vehicles manufactured in 2013. Hyundai Motor on Wednesday unveiled a teaser image of its upcoming all-electric Ioniq 9 sports utility vehicle, the massive-yet-sleek exterior design of this three-row electric SUV. It is Hyundai Motor's first shot at big electric SUVs and its biggest vehicle model in Ioniq family.
Hyundai will also fully showcase the design of the features of the car at an event in October.

The Ulsan Plant, initiated in 1968, has strong historical value as a birthplace for the formation of the Korean automobile industry. Hyundai Motor's achievement is counted one of the fastest growth among other global automakers.

Expansion at international levels took place after introducing production sites in Turkey, India, United States and Czech Republic and the companies posted record figures, exceeding half a million vehicles being built in the year 2013.
